About Us

Care built around the person, not the condition

Fortava Healthcare was founded on a simple belief: good care begins with genuinely  understanding the person in front of you. Our mission is to create homes where people thrive rather than simply being cared for, whether they need a little help with daily life, round-the-clock nursing, or specialist support with dementia.

Wilford View, Stapleford View and Long Eaton View provide residential, nursing, respite, convalescent and palliative care alongside the specialist dementia care we're best known for, with nursing care registered at Wilford View and Stapleford View. Long Eaton View sits canal-side on the Erewash, a short drive from Nottingham and Beeston. Where a home is registered for both residential and nursing care, support can adapt as needs change without a move.

We train our teams to look past a diagnosis to the person. Distress is investigated rather than managed, preferences are recorded and respected, and family are treated as partners in care rather than visitors to it.

Not sure which home is right?

Most families aren't, until they've visited. Tell us about your situation and we'll tell you honestly which of the three fits best, including if the answer is none of them.

Our Care Services

The care we provide

Here are the types of care we provide across our three homes, what each one involves, and which homes are registered to deliver it.

Residential Care

Support with daily living, including washing, dressing, medication and meals, delivered in safe and comfortable surroundings that promote the physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing of every resident.

For those who need help with daily life but not nursing care.

Available at

Dementia Care

Safe, secure and stimulating environments form the foundation of our dementia care. Dedicated dementia suites provide comfort, companionship and security, with teams trained to understand behaviour rather than simply manage it and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy built into everyday life.

Suitable for mild, moderate and advanced dementia.

Available at

Complex Dementia Care

Ten-bed specialist units support people whose needs are often considered too complex elsewhere, including those who have experienced a placement breakdown. All care staff complete a diploma in non-invasive physical and psychological interventions.

For advanced dementia with significant behavioural or
psychological needs.

Available at

Nursing Care

Round-the-clock person-centred care from an experienced clinical team, prioritising dignity, privacy and independence. AI-assisted tools including PainChek help identify pain in residents who are unable to communicate discomfort.

For medical needs requiring qualified nursing attention.

Available at

Respite and Convalescent Care

Flexible short-term stays, whether for a planned break from home care, recuperation following a hospital stay, or an opportunity to experience the home before making a longer commitment. We also support Parkinson's disease, stroke recovery and acquired brain injury.

For a planned break, recuperation, or a trial stay.

Available at

End of Life and Palliative Care

Supported by experienced nursing staff, our end of life care delivers sensitive pain and symptom management, supporting residents and their families through the process with compassion and dignity.

For residents whose priority is comfort and symptom control.

Why Choose Us

Why families choose Fortava

Our Values

The DR BOB values

Five values that shape every decision we make, from clinical care and recruitment to leadership culture and how we talk to families.

D

Dignity

Every person we care for built a career, raised a family, knew love and loss. We protect that identity at every stage.

R

Respect

Behaviour is communication. We work to understand the need behind it rather than manage the symptom.

B

Best We Can Be

Evidence-based practice, measured outcomes, and
training that goes well beyond generic e-learning.

O

Open, Honest & Fair

We don't market a fantasy version of ageing. If we're not the right home, we'll tell you.

B

Believe In Your Ability

In residents and in our teams. Seven internal promotions in our first seven months.

Words From Our Families

What families tell us

Independently submitted reviews from families across all three homes. What they describe most often isn't satisfaction. It's relief.

“The care and compassion and commitment of the care staff, nurse and everyone was excellent. We were always informed of any changes in her health.”

Lorraine L Daughter-in-law of Resident
Wilford View

“It was a hard transition for her… but the staff at Wilford View were a godsend. They have found ways to keep her engaged with dancing and baking.”

Lysbeth B Daughter of Resident
Wilford View

“I'll never forget the smile on her face as she joined in. A very happy friend and a lovely visit.”

Vivien R Friend of Resident

“Dad arrived in January and has been treated as one of the family from day one. Every member of staff aims to build a relationship with each resident.”

Julie H Daughter of Resident
